The infinite triad - the sacred understanding of oneself, & the other. Creating understanding for the mental, physical & spiritual (energetic) aspects of self is an important part of self-discovery, healing & integration. It relates to a holistic medicinal approach which when worked with, helps to create greater balance & wellness within the individual.
When someone in a state of pure health, there is no separation between mind, body & spirit, and they are living in balance with the elements of self, creating a state of wholeness from within their being.
BODY
Physical wellbeing is the optimal condition of each of the body’s physiological systems. This includes: Pulmonary, Cardiovascular, Nervous, Immune, Reproductive, Urinary, Endocrine, Musculoskeletal & Digestive.
When it comes to your physical wellbeing, it is essential to ensure that you are nourishing your body with the best nutrition. This is required not only for recovery and a strong immune system but also for your gut health which is strongly related to your mental health.
MIND
Mental wellbeing is the ability to gather, process, recall and communicate information. Your mental health is dependent on your choice of thoughts and belief systems. It is important to check in with yourself each day to ensure you are choosing positive thoughts as this will create a healthy mind body spirit integration. When it comes to exercise and training, this is especially important because a positive mental attitude is the foundations for motivation and achieving your goals.
SPIRIT
Spiritual wellbeing is the maturation of higher consciousness. It is your ability to connect deeply to your internal world & deeply relate that to nature & your external environment.
It is created through the integration of these elements:
Relationships & connection – with yourself and others
Your values
Your purpose in life
You cannot balance the mind, if the body is under stress, & you cannot connect to your spirit if your mind is unwell. You cannot build on unstable foundations.
Modern medicine often goes to extreme lengths to diagnose & treat, mental & physical ailments, & neglects the energetic body, which often means treatments have to be repeated for long periods of time. Prolonged pharmaceutical use has negative affects on the overall system because of the toxic nature of chemical drugs & the damage they can cause to the liver, kidneys, stomach & reproductive systems.
Everything is energy, & so dis-ease starts that way too. It first manifests itself on the spiritual/energetic realm, as a spiritual disconnection or misalignment long before it manifests as a physical dis-ease. Most people are not aware of or connected to the subtle spiritual aspects of themselves & so don’t take notice when this disconnection first begins.
Dis-ease then sets into the mental realm, which can present itself as anxiety, depression, brain-fog or a lack of clarity etc. The physical realm is the LAST place dis-ease will manifest & by then modern doctors will most likely focus on treating THE PHYSICAL SYMPTOM of the dis-ease, rather than the ROOT CAUSE, which can be anything from stored ancestral wounding, childhood trauma, suppressed anger, or internal conflict.
This is why I always recommend going to see an integrative medicine doctor, holistic healer and/or energy worker, along with a western medical doctor, as this way you will be able to address illness & dis-ease on all levels. I find that the western medicine approach to address only the physical, can be a very reductionist approach, to the multi-dimensional landscape of the mind-body complex. When we approach ALL healing from this multi-dimensional aspect, we actually aid our bodies in healing so much faster, than if we were to only rely on one form of treatment.
We need to approach healing in a way that allows us to work with our body's natural healing capabilities, rather than against it. The goal of your body, and all its systems, is to be maintain health, a regulated nervous system and an internal harmony by achieving homeostasis. Your body is constantly working to maintain homeostasis, and so therefore your body is constantly striving for health and vitality.
The body is not the enemy, and when you get sick, it hasn't let us down, as we may like to believe. When we become sick, this is actually the body's very genius way of communicating to our conscious mind, that something is not in alignment and that we should pay attention, before things become worse, and potentially dangerous. So next time you become ill, please thank your immune system for alerting you, and doing the necessary hard work to protect you.
