Cyclical living will make you fall in love with being a woman

6 min read · Josie Thorne

For most of my adult life I tried to be the same woman every day — same energy, same output, same mood, on demand. It was exhausting, and it was a lie. We are not linear like that. We are cyclical. And the moment I stopped fighting my own rhythm and started living with it, I fell in love with being a woman.

The four seasons within you

  • Winter — menstruation: rest, reflection, deep intuition. Permission to go inward.
  • Spring — follicular: fresh energy, ideas, the urge to begin.
  • Summer — ovulation: peak energy, magnetism, libido, expression. Your time to be seen.
  • Autumn — luteal: sensitivity rising, boundaries sharpening, the call to slow down.

You don’t have to optimise this. You just have to notice it. Awareness alone is medicine — it turns ‘what’s wrong with me?’ into ‘ah, this is the season I’m in.’

Cyclical living isn’t another thing to get perfect. It’s a homecoming — a way of moving through your month with self-trust instead of self-criticism, working with your body instead of apologising for her.

Everything you need to start mapping and living your cycle.
